Over 80 km from the flats is Trollstigen; the staircase of the trolls. This is 1 of Norway's most famous attractions. You go up via a steep slope and have stunning views over the valley. You pass several waterfalls.

Most people do this spectacular route by car. However, there is also a hiking trail up the Kløvstien path (858 m.a.s.l.). The trail starts in Isterdalen and follows the river Istra uphill. The path is part of the cultural heritage and is well maintained. Stone steps and chains make the most challenging sections safer and more accessible.

You can park at the information board at Isterdalen RV63. From there, follow the markings.
